What we know so far about MTG: FINAL FANTASY
The upcoming Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY set is a Universes Beyond expansion that celebrates the 16 mainline Final Fantasy games.
It will feature iconic characters, locations, and mechanics from the series, including new card types like Summons (Saga Creatures). The set releases on June 13, 2025, and will be Standard-legal, meaning it will be playable in all Magic formats.
Key Features:
Mainline Game Representation: The set will include cards from all 16 mainline Final Fantasy games (FF1 to FF16).
Summons (Saga Creatures): A new card type that combines the features of a Saga and a creature.
Final Fantasy through the Ages Bonus Sheet: Features art from the history of the Final Fantasy series, including art by classic artists like Yoshitaka Amano and Tetsuya Nomura.
Commander Decks: Four pre-constructed Commander decks, each themed around a different Final Fantasy game (FF6, FF7, FF10, FF14).
Borderless Character Cards: 55 of the legendary creature cards will be borderless to showcase the art style of Final Fantasy.
Standard-Legal: The set will be playable in all Magic formats, including Standard and Pioneer.
